Beckenham Cemetery is a privately owned cemetery and opened in 1876 and is situated in Elmers End Road, Beckenham, BR3 4TD. The Cemetery was previously known as Elmers End Cemetery and Crystal Palace District Cemetery and is the final resting place of the cricket legend Dr W G Grace. We show Grace’s Gate, which is an exclusive area of the cemetery, plus other areas used for more traditional burials. The cemetery chapel is also used by the crematorium.

Bluebell Cemetery is privately owned and opened in 2019 and can be used by anyone irrespective of their faith or denomination. We show internal and external views of their impressive Chapel which has all modern facilities. Bluebell has a normal service time of 60 minutes with the next funeral taking place 15 minutes later. The Chapel has the Obitus Music System (see our links page) installed. Visual Tributes can be arranged (for an additional fee) to further personalise the service. A webcam link is also available for those unable to attend the service (for an additional fee). We also show views of the grounds where traditional burials can take place as well as burial of cremated remains and we would recommend a visit to see the options available prior to arranging a funeral.

The London Borough of Bromley has 7 cemeteries.

Here we show Biggin Hill (image 01). Unfortunately there is no cemetery chapel here so any service will have to be held elsewhere. Biggin Hill has new graves available (both full and lawn) but there is limited availability.

We also show Bromley Hill (image 02), Chislehurst (image 03), London Road (image 04) and St Luke's Cemeteries (image 05) which all have cemetery chapels but they are fairly basic. New graves are also available (lawn only), limited availability.

The London Borough of Croydon have three cemeteries. We show their Mitcham Road Cemetery Chapel (image 01) which opened in 1897, they only have re-claimed traditional graves available (at a reduced cost).

We also show Greenlawn Memorial Park (images 02-04) which has been managed by Croydon Council since 1947 and is based on an American style "Lawn Cemetery". Greenlawn has no Cemetery Chapel so any service will need to be held elsewhere. Graves can be purchased for the burial of non-residents of Croydon and there are options for cremated remains.

Eden Valley Woodland Burial Ground is operated by The Natural Death Centre Charity and is situated near Edenbridge. The Burial Ground is managed by Martin House and is a beautiful 20-acre green burial cemetery and could be considered by those looking for an environmentally friendly option. Burials take place adjacent to an ancient, bluebell woodland, amongst younger but well-established oak trees. Burial plots can be purchased in advance by those wishing to get their affairs in order, or they can be chosen at the time of need. All burials are single depth and family members can purchase adjacent plots. Memorial Trees can be planted to mark the grave, alternatively wild flowers, suitable to the area, can be planted over the plot. There is no ceremonial building on site, however a ceremony and/or reception can be held at The Kent & Surrey Golf Club next door.

Epping Forest Burial Park is a privately owned true woodland burial site and was opened in 2007. The Park has won many awards and is highly recommended. We show the Reception Hall where mourners meet prior to the funeral and refreshments can be served. We also show internal and external views of the Woodland Hall where the service is held and this has excellent acoustics and a quality audio system. The Park Authorities are extremely helpful and even provide buggies to take mourners to the graveside, if necessary.

Greatness Park Cemetery is run by the Sevenoaks District Council and is situated near Seal. The Cemetery is beautifully maintained with views over the Kent countryside. Burials of non residents are permitted but a supplement is charged (although this is not excessive). The Cemetery has a small Chapel and a Garden of Remembrance for cremated remains. Our photos show some views but a visit to this Cemetery is highly recommended as the staff are very helpful.

Otford Parish Cemetery is run by the Parish Council and is situated on the Sevenoaks Road very near to the M26. The Cemetery has a traditional area where memorial stones are permitted and also a woodland area where a tree is planted instead of a headstone. This cemetery has become very popular. At the present time non resident burials are allowed (currently under review) although a supplement is charged. The Cemetery has no Chapel but is in a beautiful setting, however in winter the ground can become waterlogged. We show the entrance and both the traditional and woodland areas.
